It works if both of you are really into each other AND it is just temporary, I mean, you're distant for a specific amount of time: 1 month, 4 months, 1 year...and then any of you move to be with the other.
Also, you have to be sure that either you or her are willing to move...because if not, then it doesnt make any sense.
You have to have a plan like: "well, after X months I will move to be with her", or "in X months she will be back".
I've seen couples being in a LDR for YEARS, just to break up in the end. This is not what I mean. I mean that if you're gonna be in this situation for a year or so max, it can work. But do not be there for years and years.
And yes, I also spent a lot of time on skype talking to my girl, but it did not annoy me. Besides, if I decreased the amount of time we talked on skype, she got upset lol.
It was like at least 1 hour a day, to a max of around 3 hours, but we were distant just for 6-7 months, and visited each other every month or month and a half.
