I watched this video the other day, this guy says that you should not look at women when you're out. His rationale is that when you see an attractive woman in her short shorts or whatever, you get a dopamine hit because it pleases you. But then this dopamine hit is followed by a depressing feeling of disappointment, because she is just a stranger and you're not going to be banging her. This supposedly trains the mind that "What you want, you can't have". He also compares this phenomenon with porn.

I thought I would throw this idea out there to see what people thought of it. I suppose there's a glimmer of truth in there, but personally it sounds like nonsense to me. I enjoy seeing attractive women when I am out and about, why should I not look at what I enjoy? Should I not look at the trees on a beautiful day just because I'm not going to be banging them? Besides, if you never looked at a girl, you would never meet a girl, you would never talk to a girl, etc. etc. This also seems to contradict the idea of a confident male making eye contact with everyone he sees.

This video is by Alexander Grace, for some reason he keeps popping up on my YouTube reccommendations. You don't have to watch it, but I'll include it if you're curious.

When I was young, and older guy at work said “no matter how good looking she is, there is a man somewhere who is tired of her sh1t”
That quote has stuck with me a long time.
I have heard that one, also from an older gentleman at work

I cringed at the use of "make love." Nobody says that lol.

But in all seriousness, the point he is trying to make is at least arguable. He's essentially preaching an extreme form of "nofap" for your eyes. If you aren't getting any, don't use her as free porn.

Realistically, if there are attractive women around, you will always notice, even if it just via your peripheral vision. But not gawking at them (or even attempting to check them out) unless you plan to approach doesn't sound like a bad idea. Even the PUAs warned about looking at a chick too many times (or too long) before approaching because it can creep her out.

Maybe this could turn into some hardcore "ignoring-whoring" or "ignore game" if done before you approach.

I think there may be some potential here.

I can see the guys point, a dopamine rush followed by a crash. This is true if you are an older guy and a hot 22 year old walks by you. Yep, chances are she won't even look at you, so why bother.?

However as you said, if you don't look at women.....you won't meet any. Perhaps celebrity males or famous athletes can get away with this since women approach them.

I didn't watch the video, am only commenting on the concept as you described.

This is just another attempt to take women down a notch mentally. I get that. But I think it's pretty naive. I remember years ago Roosh (I think) saying he would no longer call any woman "hot."

These are just mental parlor tricks for a man who can't handle reality, in my opinion.

The reality is that women are pleasing to look at. Today I was near the beach and saw a woman running past in short shorts and a tight shirt. She looked great. She also looked like she was running with some other purpose, somewhat urgently like to find someone or return something. So it wasn't about me, but I still enjoyed the display.

We exist in the here and now. Period. The idea that you're not "banging her" in the here and now is irrelevant to the enjoyment of witnessing a beautiful woman. It's simply projecting a negative possibility on the future. What good is that?

All of the women you've fukked are women you at some point looked at and found attractive. So it's silly to deprive yourself of that pleasure. Furthermore, we will all see thousands more attractive women than we will fukk, so there's no point in denying these moments to ourselves.

TL;DR - I'm not going to own a Michelangelo but they're still pretty to look at.

I try not to look at women wearing things women do to try and get male attention. If I do look I make darn sure they don’t see me doing it. That is because, well, my attention will inflate her big fat ego. Even if I’m not the one piping her tonight why inflate her ego more for the dude that is? Plenty of salivating simps doing it already.

Getting tired of your gf? Why even go there?
Having a girlfriend has nothing to do with it. I'm not married, but there is a saying: "I'm married, not dead".
I think most women are beautiful, so I enjoy looking at them. I appreciate God's creation, so I enjoy seeing nature's beauty.
If you see a beautiful woman walk buy in shorts, are y'all really saying you're not going to look? I'm not going to gawk, but I'll steal a glance.

This is just another attempt to take women down a notch mentally. I get that. But I think it's pretty naive. I remember years ago Roosh (I think) saying he would no longer call any woman "hot."
You shouldn't have to watch the video, it's just 11 minutes to say what I said in a few sentences. But he did make clear he wasn't talking about giving unearned validation or attention, it wasn't about her, it was to help you.

I couldn't tell by visiting his youtube page, but I'm betting that he's a pitch-man. Either he has a book, ebook or maybe he's getting enough hits on his youtube page to profit... but I'm smelling a pitch-man.

Although I disapprove of his method, he's actually pretty good at his craft (applying NLP.)
While on the surface, he's suggesting that you not fantasize about that which you do not have... there's a (deliberate?) subconscious undertone. In a subtle way, he's delivering negative affirmations. I suspect that somewhere, he's pitching something that would suggest that he has the magic potion.

As to the theory at hand, I believe that too much daydreaming can be counter-productive, but also... not enough daydreaming could cause a lack of ambition.

Having a girlfriend has nothing to do with it. I'm not married, but there is a saying: "I'm married, not dead".
An old buddy of mine put it like this: "Just 'cause you're on a diet... doesn't mean that you can't stare at the menu."

The video is about advice relating to approaching. Unless you want to cheat on your gf the video or post has no logical releclvance. As for religious that is another story but that is not what the post or video is about. The video sounds like it was meant for single people on redpill advice,.especially low tier normies and nearcels looking to up their game.

There is one reason to watch the video: Seeing the girl with the axe in her head is kind of funny.

I couldn't tell by visiting his youtube page, but I'm betting that he's a pitch-man.
He is selling something. I know he does paid consults, and I seem to recall him advertising a book or course or something, can't really remember. But he is selling something, he definitely comes across as a typical PUA guru.

The video isn't about approaching, it's about not looking at women. The video doesn't talk about approaching at all. I suppose it's in the context of approaching, since he gives PUA advice. If you're asking why I look at seduction material, it's the same reason I come here - I find the subject interesting. And in this case especially, I was curious about it, the clickbait title dragged me in.

It sounded like a moral and religious issue the way you are approaching it. In this case Jesus said it is the same as adultery of heart to look lustfully at a woman. This is Matt 5:28. But you are living in sin anyway if you have a gf since you ought to be married so I would not see why looking would bother you.

If you don't have good attention from babes ( it means they view you sexually and lay with you ) excess viewing of babes who aren't into you will "steal" drive energy and focus. The preferential position is they are looking at you. Into you. Stay on purpose.
