your best results will come from a program that encorporates a lot of plyometrics and olympic lifting.

Check out the Westside barbell routines. It's called dynamic training that builds speed-strength like jumping and running. You basically do your power lifts (ie squats) with 55%-65% of your 1 rep max as fast as you can for reps. It trains your central nervous system to react faster and trigger muscle responses harder.

i play basketball and baseball and for explosevness and quickness we jumprope . . . stand infront of a quarter on the ground. . .jumprope to the left , then to ther right of it, then on it, then back and forward. . ..make sure u jump a good foot atleast when u jump by and over the quarter
