Especially in H&F, I have noticed several somewhat incoherent posts by new users that have suspicious links in the signature, like "generic xanax" or something from a spam email. Are these users bots? Or is this some clever new vbulletin advertising scheme?
If they are bots, then bots are certainly getting better. It is going to be difficult to tell the legitimate new sosuave users from the spam bots.
If possible, we could remove the ability to place active links in one's signature. That would foil the fake user bot scheme. It would also keep us from having conversations with people who aren't really there, which happens a lot on here when people can't tell a bot from a person.
