Week 2, Day 3:
Today was kind of a long day, but worthwhile. The first conversation I had was with these banging chicks, I made eye contact with them in a parking lot (I was with my friends) and they rolled up and parked next to us. I smiled at them and they rolled down their window and one of them said what's up. We were just hanging out by my buddies car so I just fluffed them a little bit, asked them questions like What school do you guys go to, and what're you up to tonight. They were meeting someone else and he rolled up while I was talking to them, but the convo lasted a little over two minutes.
The next convo I had was over the phone. I've put an ad for guitar lessons in the paper, so this guy called me up and he was interested. I talked to him for over 5 minutes about music in general, and about work (he works 12 hour days five days a week, holy crap). Even though it was kind of "business" related and not a conversation in person I'm still going to count it. Reason being, I put that ad in the paper because of the confidence boost I've had from bootcamp. I've always wanted to give guitar lessons, but I was nervous of meeting new people and teaching them.
Got several Hi's too, it's second nature for me now. Hell, it's almost mechanical, yet human at the same time =). I make eye contact, put on a friendly smile, then say Hi.
I'm going to kick it up a notch tomorrow, and see if I can pull in 5 conversations!
Conversation count: 5
