well, i doubt they're gonna disown you no matter what you believe about the issue. A good number of Christians are willing to accept evolution (altho I tend to disbelieve it myself). The logical apologist William Lane Craig usually assumes evolution as one of his premises, just for the sake of argument, so his debates can focus on more important issues.

redspicyflag--I had very similar situations growing up. I argued with my parents about religion, for YEARS. Lots of anger and tears and crap like that.
You're coming into the time where you make your own decisions about life and form your own opinions. And at your age, you are going to want to tell your parents off probably and get into long debates and try to make them feel stupid and everything. At least that's what I did. Hell I had a huge fight about evolution with my Dad a couple years ago. My mother is STILL praying for my soul (probably as I type this).
Hopefully they are good parents and just want you to be happy. It can be hard to see that through them judging you. They belive one way and as their child they assume you believe like them.
I'm not telling you to NOT debate with your parents. But at the same time, these things usually don't end with "you know what? I thought about it. You're right. I've changed my perspective on this topic."
Hold true to your own values. Express them if you want, but you don't have to. Evolution will not stop being taught if you don't convince your parents. And it won't stop being taught if they don't convince you.
Cherish your own reasoning. At the end of the day, if you're a responsible young man who treats people with respect and dignity (as long as they don't mess with you) your parents should consider themselves lucky.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

People who don't believe in evolution shouldn't be taken seriously. That much blind trust in a book written in the dark ages is a mental disorder. These are the same people who KNEW the world was flat, who think the word "god" has always been on our money and in our pledge, and they probably think Bush is doing great.
Organized religion was/is used for control. Sure, a lot of it may have made sense a thousand years ago, and it served a purpose. Now its, just laughable. The catholic church is one of the richest organizations on the planet, for ****s sake, the pope wears prada shoes.
Evangelicals are a bigger threat to this nation than any one in the middle east.
