"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

She isn't over the ex. Asks for space. Still texts.

Long story short, I had been hanging out with a great girl these past few months. She gets close and decides she wants to date. Not too long after we are exclusive she tells me she needs space because she still has feelings for her ex bf and doesn't feel like it's fair to me to be together if she is being conflicted emotionally. No begging or pleading on my part, I just let her go letting her know she can have all the space she needs.

Thing is she still texts and says she is even open to hanging out. Which I"m not willing to do if I can't hang out with her and be close. I don't think that would be good for me.

Any opinions, advice? Anyone had experiences like this before?

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

You got it. Maybe don't even talk to her while she sorts it out with the ex. What could happen is she uses you for emotional support and him for sex, you don't want to start that up. Let her get completely done with him. Start talking to other females.

North America, probably an airport
Wait for her to contact you. When she does, tell her that you're glad to hear from her and ask her out for a date/time certain. She will either accept or not.

If she accepts, great! Go on that 'date' and just have fun. If she doesn't agree to your idea (either by saying 'no' outright of equivocating) tell her it was good to hear from her and that you've got to go.

Just whatever you do don't chase her too much, because she might just love the arrangement knowing your on the backburner as a "chaser" while SHE "chases" her real prize.

This, don't play her drama game. I mean, you need to give them a little drama, but in your terms, by you being the bad guy, not the nice "backup" guy.

"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

Like someone else said, if she's so open to still hanging out make the terms be at your house. Don't be going out with this girl and wasting time. You are making her sh!t or get off the pot by agreeing to hangout but only on YOUR terms.

Well, at least she's trying to be honest and fair, in her own twisted womanly way ;)
