She hates him: so why getting togheter in the first place?

Hate is an emotion, the exact opposite side of the coin as love. When you flip that coin you get the opposite side of the emotion.
Too many men have women who are indifferent to them that spark zero emotion in them. And when you spark zero emotion, there is no other side of the coin to flip to.
The opposite side of the coin to indifference is indifference. It's directly in the middle, so when you flip the coin, it just lands on itself.
So you ask why? Because they spark a strong emotion and ANY emotion being sparked by a man is better than a man who sparks ZERO emotion.

Because the narrator of the poem is in a win-win vulnerable position. Either she gets to enjoy the experience of her man or she gets to play victim. Either way, she rides the roller coaster of emotions.
Everything you said is true.
They want to feel those emotions, they'll be the victim, then they'll process it through validation from others, and they'll flip the coin to love.
But if all women functioned this way, it would be truly disappointing for us men to know this... I mean, to make a relationship work, you have to know how to flip the coin without losing respect.
It's really like playing with someone, tying them up, immobilizing them, and starting to tickle them with a feather... when they tell you to stop, you continue for a few more minutes, but then you stop...
Then you start again, and even if they say no, you continue, and then you stop.
An interplay of love and hate is definitely an ingredient for a relationship.
Do all women want this at the level of their reptilian brain?
Or are we talking about "damaged goods"?
