"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

considering birds- female birds are self sufficient in that they don't need a male to survive. hence, it may be that males are flamboyant because they are the ones depending on females-to satisfy sexual urge, and hence they must do the chasing...
For most bird species the main reason that the female is so drab is so that she'll be camouflaged while sitting on the nest, otherwise they'd look a lot like the males and some are, like ****atiels, it's difficult to tell the sexes apart. Then you get exceptions like the Eclectus Parrot where the male is plain green while the female is so spectacular that they were originally thought to be different species until a researcher caught the two getting it on.

didn't think of that, great response...
in species in which the female is heavily dependent on the male for survival, as in ours, do you think the females are more inclined to aggressively pursue males?

I'm trying to think of a species where the female aggressively pursues the male. Can't. Would be interested to know if there are any.

Usually the gender with the smaller and/or motile gamete (ie., egg vs sperm) does the "pursuing" because that gender generates more gametes and can spew them out with less selectivity.

You may also be interested in researching the fish species which generates three types of male sizes. Look up "sneaker males" and read up on everything you find. It's quite interesting.
