Hello. I didn't find such a thread, so I decided to create one.

Is anyone else here practicing semen retention? Or do you guys even know about it?

As far as I know it has roots in Taoism and Tantra, but now has made a comeback recently in western society.

What it comes down to is not ejaculating. You don't waste your life force energy, and as a result you are more healthy, more masculine and grounded.

My experience with this practice: 9 months was my longest period of semen retention. This was in 2022. Now I am on a 5 month streak.

I can definitely say it has positive effects for me. Testosterone levels are probably higher, compared to when jacking off everyday. As a result, I have much more energy. And a major thing I notice is the groundedness and presence "strength". Nowadays kids refer to this as "aura". People (and women) also sense it.

I recommend everyone trying this as a self-discipline challenge or just for to see if you feel better. Most likely you will.

If we think about it, the seed we have is meant to procreate. Not to be wasted on watching other people have s3x through a screen. You see how wild this sounds?

And when you don't waste your seed, you have all this extra energy to put it in whatever you chose - self development, career, sports, art, whatever...

And since we are on a forum, which mostly revolves around getting women - it definitely helps with that too, as they feel your energy in a different way.

P.S. - It is also possible to have s3x, not ejaculate, and still enjoy it. There are techniques about that (Mantak Chia). Also, edging sometimes is probably okay, as long as you don't relapse. And if you do it, you'll probably regret it. Or at least that's my experience.

It's been found that T levels will rise when you don't ejaculate for a period of 7 or 8 days (in an attenpt to spur you into action) and then if nothing happens by then they will subsequently decline.

Why? The body doesn't waste resources when something isn't being used, it diverts the resources elsewhere. This happens in pretty much every aspect regarding bodily functions.

In terms of your body, the rule is "Use it or lose it" essentially.

No, it's not really fixing anything. It actually goes down after week two, and then you feel sucky.

I'd say at most, you should hold your seed for a week, except if you're doing preparation for a sport event.

What you say makes sense logically. But I am not sure if it’s factual enough.

I’ve heard about this T increase in the first days. But I don’t think it has to decline afterwards. Last time I took a test I was at peak levels. Not that I fully credit that to semen retention, but if it affected testosterone levels negatively longterm, that would be visible then.

The “use it or lose it” kind of makes sense too, as I started feeling like an eunuch around the 9 month streak, but that’s related to my lifestyle back then which involved 0 lust. Now I still have the ability to do whatever, I just choose not to waste my seed. That’s all.

I did SR for 8-9 months once but watched porn semi regularly and I had zero benefit. On the flip side, I once quit porn for several months but still fapped semi regularly, and the benefits were still minimal.

However, there have been several periods where I managed to quit both porn AND fapping and the benefits were extremely apparent within a couple of weeks and lasted for months.

I can attest that this is true based on personal experience with my own libido (note: T levels are key to regulating libido).

My libido peaks during 1-2 days, 7-10 days, 20 days, 30 days, 40 days, and so on, after the latest ejaculation... not to mention my libido is still very intensely high during the days in between.

It's stupid. I've done it before. Yes, it works to the point that after a week, you're ready to **** anything that moves.
I want to stress how real this is, as this happens in my own experience too. The body just aches to release all the pent-up tension. In highly tempting situations, this tension makes you socially reckless, even dangerous. All this, for the biological imperative.

Semen Retention is not just about holding in your semen. At the end of the day, it is a Spiritual holistic act. Activities like meditation and prayer, yoga, reading vigorously, giving back to charity, watching your diet and having that sense of Brotherhood in present in your community all contributes to your wellness with this stuff. You must also have a plan of things to do especially when you’re laying down in bed at night, for when you are being tempted. It could be prayer, mantra meditation or breathing exercises or tai chi movements, whatever works according to your taste.

Keen observation of those around me leads to the conclusion that frequent svex fools the body into thinking it is younger....Sure that's anecdotal,but there are studies that show pretty conclusively that more frequent ejaculation is healthier..Take a squizz at two major studies on this topic from Harvard Medical School at

Fools the body into thinking its younger. This is the same Harvard that said there are more than two genders. I'm not listening to a bunch of nepo babies who get paid to write bs [yes, the trust of the Ivy league has went waaaay down over the decades].

Doesn't work for me. I have a higher libido when I jerk off on the regular (but not too much obvs). I will say after about 5-7 days of abstinence I do feel a slight spike in horniness but after that the body goes to homeostasis. It doesn't overproduce semen or raise T levels. Whereas regular masturbation keeps me more interested in sex since it's on my mind. I get laid on the regular too though so I need to jerk off for additional relaxation and fun. Only live once, might as well enjoy myself. But again I don't overdo it either.
