I am trying to sell an expensive music instrument online and am wondering how to ensure that I am actually selling the item safely so that I do in fact receive my money.

So my question is..how do I safely carry through the transaction. I have had many people from the UK and other parts of Europe emailing me about the item, saying that they can provide a bank check or cashier's check.

How should I sell the item? Would paypal work well?

Use ebay and paypal. When the auction ends they pay you 1st and then once you've recieved the money you send the item off.

What if they claim to have never received the item?

And is paypal the most secure method for selling an expensive item?

You send them by registered / recorded post. That way when it is delivered they have to sign it and it is tracked by the post company... If they claim they never recieved if and the post company never recieved a signature for it the nyou can claim insurance back on the item off them and if they say they got a signature and the person you are selling to says they have not recieved it, it's their own problem cause it was lost at their end and you did everything right.
