Or he's overtalking and causing her to lose interest before she has a chance to talk how she sees fit.

What you said makes sense! I never thought of it that way, but that seems to be how it always plays out, either she makes it easy on me if she likes me, or it is an uphill struggle to constantly think of more, especially funny things to say to her.

Or you're just not that hot for her, and thus don't find her intriguing enough to converse with at length. That's one of the downsides of running around with exceptionally beautiful girls... Many of them are empty vessels with sexy exteriors, who don't have much to offer beyond their physical charms

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.
