"She Laughed All Night. Then She Ghosted You. Here's Why."

Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.

Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?

You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.

Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.

I asked a girl I fancied to prom a month ago, but she gave me a lame excuse...something about not being able to get a dress she liked.

Recently, I found out through her best friend that she is now going to prom, but I have not heard this from her, which pretty much sets in stone the fact that she rejected me (apparently she wants to go alone and w/o a date).

But I am past that.

The thing is, do you guys think asking her best friend to prom is a good idea? I know her best friend is looking for a date and is single.

"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

hahaha that would be the perfect thing to do to get back at that girl. it would be a slap in the face. definatley ask her friend to prom assuming shes higher than a 6/10

yeah the original girl is a HB 8.5 or so, and her friend is a HB7. I'm not doing this with the intention of "getting back" at her, but really I want a date and I'm going to ask her friend because a lot of other girls are taken already.

I'm gonna ask and i'll let you guys know how it goes. (unless there are any objections)

Alright guys, I got back. This is how the convo went. We met at Starbucks:

Me: hey, you got here fast
Her: yeah...
Me: wow you seem really excited...(sarcasm)
Her: yeah..
chit chat chit chat for a few minutes
Me: so you wanna go to prom with me?
Her: um...well...
Me: well....
Her: basically I can't go with you because I'm already going with :blank: and I don't want to betray my friend.
Me: alright that's cool. I hope you have fun with :blank:.

then I went back to talking but it was awkward as hell...yea...

Strike 2 for me :(

I didn't ask who she was going with. She just said someone, and I didn't ask why it would mess things up with her friend, but you know, gotta cut my losses and move on right?

"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
