In fairness the confusion is understandable. Many assume that a 9 is 90th percentile. E.g if you take 1,000 random women between the ages of 20-25, a 9 would be the 900th most attractive. However the scale doesn't really work that way. 9s are considered extremely rare.

Most straight guys will agree with that general rating. A woman that is a true HB9 has cross cultural beauty appeal. If it feels subjective, it’s because she ain’t that hot (probably is more like a 6 or 7).
