I had a good conversation with this young lady on 05/07/2025

I was looking at work boots and I noticed a young lady taking a picture of TV stands next to me. There was an older gentleman behind her sitting in a scooter.

Me: Looks like your getting away with something there.

Her: No just trying to find the right TV stand for my mom

Me: Well I guess that makes sense. Discussing is with your mom huh?:)

Her: Yeah I did it fast because I did not want to get in anybody's way

Me: Well that's nice of you. I do things fast too but not because I'm nice like you.... Well not everything fast

Her: Well that's good to be like that too.

Me: Sometimes. There's an old saying "haste makes waste"

Her: (looks confused) Never heard of that before

Me: It's a really old saying.

Her: Actually I like that. I'll have to remember that.

Me: Add that to your repertoire :)

(Old man in the scooter chuckles. This is hilarious for him)

At this point, that throws me off a little and I feel like I'm running out of things to say, so I walked off. The store doesn't have the boots I'm looking for so then I go off and get some bananas. I'm kicking myself for not talking to this young lady more. I felt like I had a little bit of chemistry with her. I'm walking down another isle and I see her again, this time with a TV stand box.

Me: So you found the right one huh?

Her: Yes

Me: That's nice of you to set that up for your mom

Her: I like to make people comfortable and happy

Me: :) well that's cool. What's your name?

Her: Alex

Me: That's an unusual name for a girl

Her: Well actually it's Alexandria.

Me: Oh you mean like Alexandria Egypt. Like Cleopatra of Egypt.

Her: (laughs)

Me: My name is Plinco :)

Her: Nice to meet you Plinco :)

Her: Wellllll..... I have to get going.....

Me: Give me your number

Her: I can't :( I have a boyfriend.

Me: Well, okay. Good for the two of you. Enjoy the rest of your day:)

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

You got IHAB'ed. That's bad. Why didn't you use a boyfriend destroyer line there?

You also asked for the number without a date in place. Never ask for a number without a date.

You might have had something after the "repertoire" comment. That would have been the time to ask her to get together for a future social outing.

If the conversation got to "weell, I have to get going" without you making plans with her, it was too late. Conversations should naturally flow without that. It was a bad sign to get there.

Not going to lie, you need to offer something about yourself or introduce a high-value storyline. Right now, it feels like she’s doing all the work in the conversation since everything is about herself, while you’re just tossing in the occasional joke here and there.

Also, the line “that’s an unusual name for a girl” might have come across the wrong way, it can easily sound dismissive or awkward if not delivered carefully.

I don't think that line was awkward because I felt good while I was saying it. Possibly dismissive however.

You don't think that's a low self-esteem/transactional approach?

These are both good points and will work on those.

Honestly, it’s hard to say if the issue was the basic questions or the lack of other factors such as LSMP, but the result was the same, she was doing most of the work while you just reacted with occasional jokes. There wasn’t much substance or emotional engagement coming from your side.

There are two key social archetypes: Charmers and Charismatics.
  • Charmers focus on the other person. They make people feel good by paying close attention, reading emotions, and adapting to the vibe. They’re smooth, non-threatening, and make you feel seen and understood. That’s what draws people in.
  • Charismatics have strong presence. It’s not about the other person, it’s about how confidently they carry themselves. People are drawn to their energy, passion, or sense of purpose. They don’t need to chase attention because they already have it.

In my company’s B2B sales approach, when we’re targeting accounts already using competitor products and aren’t sure how to get in the door, we rely on both of these personas depending on the situation. Sometimes we take the Charmer approach, building rapport, easing in, and making them feel understood. Other times, we lead with the Charismatic angle, dropping company names, showcasing our impact with other big clients, and projecting confidence how good we are.

In your interaction, you didn’t really show either. There wasn’t a clear signal of who you are, what you’re about, or why she should stay engaged. That made it easy for her to stay polite but detached.

Like everything else, take my advice with a grain of salt.

She might not have even been in the market for new penis.

Had he been more of a Charmer or Charismatic, he might have been able to get her more interested and into a deeper conversation. She might have agreed to see him, even if she did have a boyfriend.

This might be a situation where he didn't have much charm and she wasn't in the market for new penis. Plenty of conversations happen under these 2 conditions.

Good that you're still approaching!

Convo seemed slightly flat? Sometimes that's not your fault at all and the girl will literally MAKE it that way, but from reading it she was at least offering up some bait. Maybe just a few more questions and/or statements to build a little bit of comfort.

Not sure I agree with the 'boyfriend destroyer stuff', though. It was a thing back in the old PUA days, but I don't think i've ever even seen it work in an infield! Maybe VERY rarely! I still see them used sometimes by the guys who make youtube vids like 'thiswasepic' etc, but usually at best it just gets a laugh but the rejection remains. Of course there's a few, but they all tend to seem super corny to me. End of the day, if she's lying about having a BF, she's just not into you, and so nothing you say is gonna change that

Keep going!

I didn't learn about the boyfriend destroyer tactic until later in my seduction journey. I have gotten IHAB'ed much less since I learned about it. I thought the IHAB was dead until I saw it in a 2021 video.

I've only used a destroyer line no more than 2 times and it didn't work.

I've never seen it work in the field but my own sample size is far too small.

I still recommend its use and I will use it if I get the objection. The problem is that I rarely ever get that objection.

Tsk, tsk.

So, you did all that yakking with the woman, only to get the IHAB in the end.

Now, had you began the conversation by asking her if she's single, (as I've been preaching)...you'd have saved yourself the unnecessary, trivial, BULLSH!T conversation...which ultimately led you nowhere anyway.

I'll just let you guys keep proving my points valid.

I need to work on getting myself to be a good conversationalist again. Covid messed me up big time. I'm actually quite happy to have had a decent conversation with a 8/10 young woman.

If you consider having a conversation with a woman who isn't interested in you...if you consider that a positive thing.

Then do yo thang, pimp  .

I think it is an important point to lead with that question. More men would benefit from this.

It's unknown how long that conversation was that @Plinco had, but it is doubtful that was more than 60-90 seconds. It's doubtful he wasted that much time. I'd rather get a soft no (conversation fizzles) than an IHAB, hard no like that.

60-90 seconds is long compared to 5-10 seconds.

Me: Excuse me miss, are you single?

Her: No, I have a boyfriend.

Me: Aight, you know I had to ask  .

Her: But thank you :D.

Me: You're welcome .

*Walks away, curtain closes*

10 seconds, tops.

Cut chatter. Get to the point. Keep it simple.

Trivial, bullshiit talk about a damn TV stand or the weather is a waste of time.

This conversation has a great flow to it. When the outcome is negative, it's still a better conversation.

Neither am I...unless she is interested in me.

If she is interested in me, then I'm willing to engage in such a conversation, just for the sake of conversation in the process of getting to know her.

But if she ain't interested in me, why should I give a damn about trivial stuff with her?

If she ain't interested in me, what benefit is a flowing conversation with her?

My last post a few minutes ago was about this topic. We feel the same way.

Because some people believe they can completely change her mind with 'game'. (speaking more for the old school community than this forum or even in general)
If you went too a forum like skilledseducer, I think you would soon understand the confusion (e.g most of the guys there claim they can bang literally any girl they want. No matter what they look like. Since their 'game', that involves NLP and other nonsense is so advanced that it's akind to brainwashing or jedi mind control! lol)
