That's what a jerk is. Note the emphasis on treating other people shabbily. Demanding respect for yourself is not treating others badly. PUAs try to set up jerks as having only positive qualities, which is completely ludicrous. There's nothing admirable about being a jerk.

Most guys start off as nice guys (pvssies). Then they get burned by women and turn into jerks (a$$holes). These are two extremes, both of which are relatively unattractive to women. Obviously what we are aiming for is the middle ground of being a d!ck.
