Why "Whatever You Want" Keeps You Single

She says the movie looks dumb; you suddenly agree. She tests you with a little attitude; you apologize for nothing.

You think you're being easy to get along with. She reads something else entirely: a man with no edges. Nothing to hold on to. No friction, no tension, no reason to wonder what he really thinks.

The "22 Rules" taught me to push back — playfully, calmly, without needing her approval. Strange things happened after that.

So recently a girl I knew from high school found me on myspace. We knew eachother, but weren't really "friends", as in people who hung out or talked a lot. I think she was attracted to me, but i dated one of her good friends all through highschool. She used to tell my girlfriend things like "i want to steal him haha".

Anyway, she left me a message "i hope i see you this summer, i havnt seen you forever." It's been two years since weve seen each other. So she sent me her number and msn address.

Tonight i was bored and saw she was online, so i said lets go out for ice cream. She said im not hungry but i will go. Anyway i was just gonna get ice cream and drop her off, but when we got to her hosue she said "do u wanna come in and finish your ice cream?" Of course i said yes.

We had a good time, lots of convo, a lot of catching up type stuf, but some other things too. A little bit of kino, not too much, like i would put my hand on her leg for a second when i was telling a story. We were sittin on her couch watchin t.v. for about 1 hour and 15 minutes. At first her body was facing into me, we were sitting kind of close, but not too close. I didnt make a move!! She seemed to be habving fun, lots of laughing. But i didn't know what to do. I have a decent amount of experience with girls, but none in this situation.

I wasn't nervous at all, I was just not sure exactly how to go about making a move. I honestly think that i could get some play from her to be honest. I just did not want to try to get too close and make it seem weird. But like i said before, its not like we are "friends", i hadn't even talked to her for 2 years before this.

Anyway, any tips for next time? How do you think i should ask her to chill? And what should we do? I do not want to make it seem like too much of a "date", but i dont want to be a friend either. How do you recommend escalating to the point where we could get close? I know that i could get the kiss etc once we are close enough, thats not a problem. I am having trouble getting to that point. She seemed receptive, but maybe i was jsut scared to make it weird.

Sorry for the long a$$ post, but please any tips would be great. And no, i don't think this is the typical LJBF situation. Thanks everyone!

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

I hope you realize that she invited you in because she was hoping you'd **** her brains out. That's your tip for "next time."

Dude. If You meet a women from old times and she dates You, there is onl 1 chance to kiss her. SO next time better do it. But there may be no next time because You acted like friend not potential attactor.

I realized this, and i'm not proud of it. Any tips to make sure "next time" happens? I think it might be akward to do the traditional "date" thing, so maybe something similar to what we did the first time. picked her up at 10:45 p.m., so it wasn't like we did a whole dinner movie type date. Just ice cream and her house. And once i'm there, on escalating the kino and not making it seem weird? I'm pretty confident i can pull this off. I'm just having troubles getting it started.

"I'm Not Looking for Anything Serious Right Now"

When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.

Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.

Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.

The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.

Just talked to her actually, got plans for later this week. We are either going to do something(what that is has yet to be determined), or she is going to help me decorate my new room, and we would probably chill afterwards. If we decided to "do something, what would you recomend, I don't want it to seem too "date-like". Any advice??????
