Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.
Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?
You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.
Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.
Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.
She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.
Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.
So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.
The words come later. The impression comes first.
Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.
You've been "getting ready" for two years.
She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.
Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.
How did I fail? Please explain.Zarky said:haha and it begins. You failed her first one.
i'm guessing it's because you "gave in" instead of negging her for switching nights.Neon Owl said:How did I fail? Please explain.
I did think about throwing a little 'neg' in there but it's very possible they could have just turned up. She recently moved here from another city about 50 miles away to be closer to her dad. Her bro might have come over to see his dad and stopped over at hers unannounced, or it could be bullsh1t lol who knows. Tbh I'm not too bothered it's still very early days to be caring.dmvdav said:i'm guessing it's because you "gave in" instead of negging her for switching nights.
you could have said, "i've got plans tomorrow, maybe some other time"
not sure, though.
realistically she could be telling you the truth, and feels bad about it.
"no worries" isn't terrible. it's a lot better then "sure! just name the place, and time and i'll be there!" but seeming like you had plans could raise her interest.
saying "maybe some other time" will make her show IOI if she asks you when you're free and stuff.
i think if she wasn't interested she would just leave it alone.
Young girls need extreme push-pull. You should have said nothing at all in response. She would have spent the night blowing up your phone.Neon Owl said:How did I fail? Please explain.
Another really weak text.Ha ok well just to update she stopped replying a few hours ago. I sent her a txt 'you dozed off? :/' about an hour ago and still no reply.
I could see this from a mile away. You fail a couple of tests with a young girl and you're done immediately.Just goes to show you never know if a girl will flake. Even though her IL was sky high at first it can all change very quickly early on.
You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.
For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.
Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.
The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
It sounds like he's texting her way too much and on the verge of losing the frame and her interest. If you're texting her everyday multiple times a day it's only a matter of time before she gets bored with you. You never send more than 2 texts or phone calls without a response. The only thing he can do now is out-wait her until she contacts him again. You have to force her hand and make her start chasing you again. If more than a week goes by with no response then you'll know it's over.princesimba said:What exactly does the OP need to do next? im curious
Not sure how I've been txting too much? It has been HER that initiates the txting every day not me. All I'm doing is replying. And I haven't sent more than 2 txts without a response btw I don't know where you got that idea.Dust 2 Dust said:It sounds like he's texting her way too much and on the verge of losing the frame and her interest.
