There are like no people who give eye contact anymore in this world, and while they're not Don Juans, this poses a problem for me when I try eye contact - smile -approach. Also, is my value auto-lowered when I go for older girls, since I'm a freshman?

Why would your value be lowered for going after older girls? Your perceived value may go down a bit, but your actual value stays the same. I'm the same way but I treat everyone like they're beneath me - just comes easy to me (since I'm kind of an ass). Older or not, treat all women like a little sister. Don't take them serious. They'll give you crap for it (sh!t test) but don't break frame.
And there are plenty of people who make eye contact.

Lack of eye contact is a sign of submission, low self-esteem. On the other hand If they look passed you or not at you when you are looking at them, it can mean just that.
Only say "Hey" to girls who hold your gaze and smiles back. Those are the interested ones.

^This. There's like literally a million reasons why people won't give you eye contact. The majority falling under the general reason that people are just doing their own thing and not actively trying to make eye contact with people so they just don't. For others, they may be insecure. Of course, EPH is correct. Your inherent value as a human being is obviously not lowered, but in regard to your social value at high school your value is lower than a Senior's if you are a Freshman. Maybe a better reason to explain it is that you have lower status (generally) if you're younger in hs. That's just how it is. Highschool is an environment like no other that is built completely off of status. And those who are younger have lower status.Eph said:
Couldn't have said it better myself. If you're below them in grade or age, you're seen as lower status. Just the way it is. There's no changing that mindset, but if you work your butt off you can be seen as "high status for your grade/age".AlexLefty said:
