I live in a condo and until recently I though upstairs lives a baby which runs around all day long and drops things during the day and during the night, I thought it wakes up and drops things, or maybe its mother wakes up and drops things. I am systematically waking up at 1 AM, 2 AM, and sometimes 3 AM and 4 AM. I had no idea how bad it was until I began writing down times I wake up at night on a piece of paper and then transferring it into excel spread sheet.
I did my research. Basically there is no baby. It's a grown person, a senior, that I guess uses contact mic or listens in using stethoscope or else they have amazing hearing and are able to hear what's going on downstairs. Basically that thing is following me around and drops things above my head. I go to sit on the coach in the living room, it drops things above my head in the living room. I go to sleep in bedroom it moves to bedroom and drops things above my bed. I go to another bedroom and it moves there.
I double and triple checked. I'd leave a sound recorder in one room and move to another room so that it don't picks up my snoring and that person above move to another room, and vice versa. I'd trick it, make a noise on my bed, pretend to go to sleep and then quietly move to another room to have some sleep, it would eventually follow me.
I installed hidden camera in corridor upstairs to see who it was, I did not tell anyone because I think it's illegal. No baby, confirmed. It's an older person. In spreadsheet above you can see I only had 1 good night in 3 weeks. This is only because nobody was upstairs, I did not hear anyone during the evening and no lights were lit.
Now my question is what do I do? Moving out, or selling and buying elsewhere is not an option. It was perhaps 16 years ago or more, but not now.
