Need some help w/ competition

Tomorrow night, I am looking forward to a nice date w/ a lovely girl, and I'm raring to get back in the game. However, there is one thing slightly dogging me. Namely, she is going to prom (in what appears to be a romantic context as opposed to a "friends" context) w/ some other guy (I don't know him real well; he asked her after we'd made the date). Now, I'm not that scared---this guy looks like a total AFC---but still, I'm a wee bit rattled for tomorrow night.

I know the basic mindset I should have, and all that, but a lot of the stuff on dealing w/ competition on here is focusing on fending off AMOGs in a club situation, where you're face to face w/ the guy. So, does anyone have any advice as to how to "win" in a situation such as this one?

I've never been in this kind of situation yet so I could be talking out of my azz, but I would just try to be myself (because myself is fantastic). I'm assuming yourself is fantastic as well, so just be yourself.

Unless yourself sucks. Then be cool, laid-back, confident, groomed, dressed well, etc.
