"She Liked You in March. It's October Now."

Attraction runs on a clock.

She flirted for weeks. Touched your arm. Found reasons to be alone with you. And you were careful. Respectful. Waiting for the right moment.

The moment had a shelf life. It expired around month two, and by the time you asked her out, she'd quietly filed you under "little brother."

One of the hardest lessons inside the 22 Rules: women rarely wait. Interest either grows or it decays, and nothing decays it faster than a man who never moves.

Make the move while she's still inventing reasons to be near you.

I just got the following message from a chick on hi5.com (same sh!t as myspace). I checked out her profile and it looks pretty normal. She even included her email so I could talk to her on msn.

As I'm new to this internet dating crap, my question is, does this sh!t look fake? Is it normal for chicks to message random guys out of the blue?

cheers

Hi Stranger!
My name is Lera, I am 20 years old. I hope you don`t mind my writing, but
I just read your profile few minutes ago and it really caught my
attention, I thought I should write you at least few lines and see if you
are interested to know me also. Maybe we have a lot in common with you?! I
would definitely like to know you better and I hope that we can talk some
more to each other. Would you like to communicate and know me better?

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

It's not normal for attractive women to message guys out of the blue without any hidden agenda. Unless she has some connection to someone with whom you have a connection. If you proceed, make sure you have good anti-virus software running. It could be a copied-and-pasted form message. Those sort of sites are cesspools of viruses and spyware.

It's a form letter sent to you and probably 1000 other guys, most likely to get you to sign up for a webcam site or something similar, thogh possibly to try to scam or infect you. What ever it is, it's not what it seems.

Notice, she doesn't say anything that could specifically identify you or your likes, such as things you might have in common "hey, I noticed you like strudel, me too" or something like that. She called you stranger, instead of your name, or even a screenname. She said your profile caught her attention without ever saying exactly what it was that caught her attention.

Report it as spam.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

I already checked out her profile. It looks prtty normal. No spam, no webcam sh!t, no nothing.

I sent her a pretty generic reply back, I'll see what comes out of it.

Sounds like a friend job though. Or pen pals if they live in different country? I msg girls all the time in different countries just to be friends with them and stuff...

Dude, anyone who has had a myspace or anything like that for a while knows that those are just stupid spam letters. I usually get one of those a week, i usually just add the girl or whatever. Also, she may send you a comment with something like, "Hey, i saw your profile and i think your cute." But the thing is she sends that to everyone she adds haha

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

Even if it's legit, how desperate must this girl be to message complete strangers on internet websites? Do you really want to hook up with a girl like that?

So your options are:
fake
desperate

It's a lose lose situation.

If you think she can copy/paste that into someone else's PM's, then it's most likely fake. if there's NOTHING about you in it, then it's fake.

Maybe if she said something like "Yeah I like xx band as well."
