I don’t know why, but it’s been getting harder for me to exercise the past several years. Like sets with the same weights too. It’s just more taxing on my nervous system and I don’t know why. I’m only 20 (21 in February) so I don’t see why it’s happening. It’s like my body doesn’t want to work out anymore and I’m forcing it to. I can pass out right in the middle of a set and feel my body just want to collapse, but I have to either rack the weight/stop the set, or just will my way through. I’ve been willing my way through for a while though and it’s getting progressively harder to do, and sometimes I just fail and end up dropping the weight on myself. It’s like my body and CNS are just done.

Not sure what’s going on. I get enough sleep (at least 10 hours a night right now) and it’s not really improving all that much. I feel better throughout the day though than when I was sleeping a lot less but yknow. I don’t know if this matters, but I only go heavy. I never do hypertrophy because I don’t think I’m all that strong tbh. I still do calisthenics though for speedwork/power so that I don’t injure myself. Idk, it’s kind of irritating tbh. I used to love the FEELING of working out and used to love pushing myself. I want to get that back, and then some.

Yeah dude ur only going heavy thats dumb. Whats your rep range? Say byebye to your joints. I lift for the PUMP yes that includes going heavy but also mixed in high volume sets and plenty of warmup.

Whats your stats and bf%. R u jacked or one of those skinny fat lifters who thinks they are strong

- My joints are fine because I know how to take care of them.
- For compounds, I don’t go over 5 reps.
- For isolation, it ranges anywhere from 6-15 reps depending.

Stats:
5’11
173 lbs
7 - 11% bf (hydrostatic weighing). I’m honestly not sure what my exact bf% is because the second time I went, they said I lost lean body mass even though I was WAYYYYYY stronger than the first time, so idk. I posted some of my pics in this thread here:

Bruh your shredded. Maybe u need to up your carbs a lil bit. And if you are looking the way you want physically then just lift to maintain and remain healthy. Throw in some heavy **** once a week to maintain strength

Yeah maybe I should eat more carbs. I’m trying to eat a lot healthier (not that I ate super unhealthy to begin with really), and a side effect of that is less carbs because sugar is pumped into fkn everything nowadays.

For my physique, I’m pretty close to where I want to be. I just want to fill in my inner & upper chest more, and get better shoulders. The size of my legs is fine, but they aren’t nearly as lean as my upper body so I have to work those more (even though I hit legs more often than upper body...).

Still want to be stronger though. Like, if I wanted to, I could technically put like 50-60 lbs on all my lifts within 6 months. But at that point, I’d be getting better at weightlifting rather than actually getting stronger, if that makes any sense. I see so many meatheads who can lift heavy weights in the gym, but can’t do **** outside of it. Like what kind of an idiot gets big and looks strong without actually BEING strong? Plus, it’s just more practical tbh. I’ve still got several more years before my body begins to really break down anyway, so I don’t want to just waste that away ‘maintaining’ when I could be improving.

Take 6 weeks off from the gym. Your body and mind will thank you.
I think part of it may be my mindset. I checked out IronL00’s channel and saw one of his livestreams, and at one point he mentioned about that fire you gotta have in you (like the way you do in the military and in prison), and it clicked again. I hadn’t had any sleep that night, but then when he said that, my mindset changed and I had a killer squat session in the gym (again, this was despite no sleep). Still gotta work it, but yknow. I used to have that fire in me really hard when I was 16/17 but things changed when I turned 18 because I had to tone it down some (or so I thought; it’s a huge regret of mine that I did). I’m getting that back now.
What are you eating?
I fry some fresh vegetables (broccoli, radishes, green peppers, onions, cabbage, sometimes carrots & mushrooms).

For protein, I do eggs (scrambled mostly, but occasionally raw), sometimes with vegetables and cheese in them. Avocados in the side. Also chicken; usually I fry it, but recently I’ve been trying the bone-in ones in a pressure cooker.

Carbs will be fruits. Sometimes some miscellaneous unhealthy stuff like cereal, but it’s pretty rare tbh.

Almondmilk instead of regular milk.

I have a lot of fat in my diet, esp saturated. **** US Dietary guidelines, the research has been lying to us for years because of confirmation bias and politics, and that’s just coming into light now. Vegans and vegetarians are pussies, and eating a lot of meat is super healthy for you. I’ve read wayyyy too much now to think otherwise.

Supplements:
- Cod liver oil by the spoonful, 2 tablespoons twice a day (morning & evening).
- Ionic boron, 5-6 mg twice a day.
- Glucosamine chondroitin, 1.5 servings twice a day.
- Sometimes a multivitamin.
- Vitamin K2, 15 mg twice a day. I will be upping it to 25 mg twice a day though soon.

Take a break. Your body will tell you when it's time to get moving again.

Yeah but I’ve been at a crossroads for a while where my body is telling me to work harder but that it’s also tired too so I’m like ‘uh...’ I just force myself to go. Maybe I need a more consistent sleep schedule. Speaking of which, I should get to bed now lol

I'd say deep fried breaded food is bad. There's no way to control the oil amount. Orange chicken will destroy me if there's too much oil. Bread soaks up oil, like a sponge.

Fried egg in butter is way better for you, and highly recommended!:)

Yeah no, I avoid breaded and deep fried crap. The oil they use for that along with the breaded stuff is horrible and is a light form of chemical castration. I always use butter. Love that stuff, butter ftw. **** margarine, that stuff is crap.

Just about to try to find some ionic boron and glucosamine chondroiten. Work related need for me to take these and start my cod liver again. I returned Baclofen to the pharmacy unopened and looking for a new family doctor who can help with what these supplements help with, without taking big pharma, habit forming drugs. I need a functional gp to help with my orthopedic specialist recommendations.
Saw in another post your career goal and now your younger age and its always my prejudice the younger ones have the latest info.Just copycat them and get new doctors to back me up with medical approval. I don't know why general practitioners refuse to help with diet change and elemental supplementation. Annoying.

So many questions here. How is glucosamine chondroitin, boron, and fish oil a work-related need? And what did you need baclofen for?

Also, my career goals have changed from when I first started posting here, so if it’s an old post, it might not be the same. I want to be a dentist now, not a doctor anymore. Doctors don’t learn about or know any of this stuff because Big Pharma makes sure to fund the medical schools to present to them the research that only THEY want them to know. They also do not learn anything at all about diet. It’s just not in the description. Most of the stuff I know I had to come across by chance through my own readings, and usually by people who were bedridden. Truth is, you have to do your own research and reading. The only people knowledgeable in this type of stuff are organic chemists and biochemists, none of whom can offer prescriptions lol nor are they even likely to respond to you should you try contacting them. Most of this stuff you can get without prescriptions, which ofc begs the question of the purity of the product you’re getting (since the FDA doesn’t check supplements), but for the most part, I think most of these are still legit.

Also, I don’t take K2 anymore (ran out) nor the cod liver oil anymore either (also ran out). But also because I just don’t know if I actually need it; I didn’t feel any difference. I also ran out of glucosamine chondroitin too lol so there’s that. I need to do more reading about it though bc I’m not quite sure why it was helpful and if other methods would be more efficient, or what exactly...

I verbally vomited on the sweetest, kindest pharmacist this morning.
She patiently listened to all the positive changes I've made in the last 1.5 years in my health and gently encouraged me to focus a lot more of my efforts in reducing coffee to 2 cups a day and ramping up my exercise to drop pounds/reduce waist circumference. She suggested extra supplements shouldn't be introduced for another year after dropping more weight and harnessing caffeine consumption to a moderate level.

I also found a new family doctor this morning who is more enthusiastic about working closer to my Registered Dietitian and me in making permanent, lifelong eating habits and food choices.
There is no ionic boron in the two pharmacies I went to, nor had they heard of it.
For as anxious as my earlier post may have appeared, that mood propelled me to take action today.
I got excited when I saw someone was taking boron as I only just learned of it the other day.
All is good now, thanks for reply.
I think this pandemic thing is a great motivator to make healthy lifestyle changes.

They rarely ever sell boron in pharmacies. You might have better luck with certain supplement shops like GNC or Vitamin Shoppe, but even they don’t have it a lot of times. I get mine from online (Amazon). Same with the K2 when I was taking it (this one not from Amazon though).

Are you going for anything competitive with body building? I can understand pushing hard when you have a goal in mind but there's a limit to the amount of workout that is good for you. Eddie Hall may have lifted 500kg but he definitely knocked quite a few years off his life in doing so, and he acknowledges this himself.

You should take a break, if you haven't done it before you should find out what happens when you do.

At the end of the day you're going to have to live with that body for a long time so don't go destroying it without glory to show for it. But that's just my opinion.

I’d rather live hard and die early than not live and die long.
