I have been training pretty hard for about 2 or 2 and a half months. I am 5'10. I went from weighing 149 to now I just weighed myself and I'm at 161. Am I on target?

good job man. just keep it up, don't slack on your routine. I went from 145 - 172 in a span of 6 months .. now back to 155. blah.

Good job man. To answer your question however, it depends on what your goals are.

Also what are your core lifts like? Lifts like front/back squat, deads, bench, cleans, etc. What is your body comp like?

core lifts are bench, deadlift, squat. i workout 3 times a week in that order. I also do cardio for at least 20 minutes AFTER each workout. my goal is to get to around 175. my body comp is normal i guess.

Yep, you're right, bench, deads, squat are core lifts for powerlifting. However, I like to incorporate some olympic lifting stuff into the mix as well. I believe it makes you a more complete athlete. Post your raw numbers.

I'm gonna encourage you to stay away from purely focusing on bodyweight goals. Although I'm totally guilty of this as well, I think you should focus more on getting stronger and better conditioned, rather than just aiming to be at a certain bodyweight.

By body composition I mean how lean you are...this is often hard to estimate, but for most people, having a 6-pack means that you're in the single digits bodyfat %. You can get bodyfat tested by a variety of methods.

Well, I definitely don't have a 6-pack. I have a spare tire that I'm trying to get rid of. That's why I do cardio. I kind of agree with you on focusing on strength and conditioning rather than bodyweight. I just don't want to get extremely big. I know that If I gain around 15 more pounds in muscle, I will be very strong and conditioned. I don't however, want to get over that number.
