"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

Okay, so me and thisgirl hookuped twice already. I went to Florida for vacation and we've been texting. 1 night her text to me was when I asked how hernight was she responded...sucked betterif you were here. Then last nite I waslike I'm coming home firday! and shes likeOMG thats so long I miss you! However the days in between she suddenly doesn't answer soem text messages and just kinda leaves me hanging. Does this mean anything?

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

Stop thinking so hard. These aren't signals at all. She's probably just getting her own life on, just like you should. Enjoy your vacation and hook back up afterwards. There's no point in worrying.

dont text .... u lose all frame control and u cant plow trough on issues .

at the same time chicks rate that u not being a cheap skate and are serious about them

5 buck phone call to hook a perfect day 2 is better than a wasted 50c on no day 2 and eventual dissapointment

hmm i think that raises an interesting question, is text messaging that big of a deal? If anything, I believe that text messaging used sparingly would mark you as more of a prize because it would indicate how you have other priorities instead of calling the girl and wasting your time.

"How I Made Sure No Woman Ever Friend-Zoned Me Again"

She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.

You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.

She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.

The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.

Look. I thought I had a unique problem. I guess not.

When I saw this and another post... it amazed me how semi-alike they are.

Heres a background that shows where I'm coming from, okay?

Ive been talking to this girl for a while (never dated). She gave up on me once, and we made up... after we made up, things got really good, better than before. Alright, two days after we made up I had to leave for FL... and I was all "I really wanna see you before I go... pls pls pls." She wanted to to, but she couldn't at the time and responded with "Don't worry! I'll be here still. We don't need to rush things." ... I knew she was busy... especially when I was gone, I knew she had stuff to do. So we were lucky for that... the time to do things on our own. Now in FL, this is the FIRST time we talked everyday for a week at night *on the phone*. We missed each other and we told each other, even though we never even kissed or hugged (no kidding).

Long story short... we knew each other had other things to do than to talk to each other. You need to trust her, and give her her space. You obviously came off as a needy guy just now.

Tell me what you think of my advice.
