Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.
You've been "getting ready" for two years.
She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.
Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.
When a woman says it, guys hear a confession. A heads-up. A scheduling conflict.
Here's the translation: I don't feel anything. Right now. With you.
Watch what happens when a man triggers actual attraction. The busy career, the recent breakup, the "not in a place to date" — all of it evaporates instantly. The same woman who was guarding her freedom is suddenly free every night.
The "22 Rules" explain why. When the right switches flip, her timeline rearranges itself around you.
She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.
Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.
The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.
I am not drinking very much milk anymore. In fact, under 2 cups a day. I just put a little bit in when I eat the raw egss so it tastes good. But I did eat a decent amount of junk over the holidays. Cookies, pies, cheesecake, chocolates, you name it. But now I am back on my own so these temptations are not even available. I did take pics the first couple of weeks. I will get some news ones this week and compare. I have not been measuring my waist, but I have noticed my pants fit a little looser around the waist.Quagmire911 said:There isn't much point in weighing yourself so much due to fluctuations. I'd say once a week max is fine, some say even less.
I would also start taking your waist measurement when you take your weight, and take a picture once every 4 weeks or so. This will help you make sure you are gaining muscle and not fat. You've got to be careful of this, espcially with the milk.
Don't know if I've asked, what cardio are you doing?
Keep it up,
Quagmire
Wow I over looked this in your log. Yes... start doing 30min of cardio first thing in the morning on 3 of your non lifting days. I recommend using the elliptical and keeping your heart rate in the 130-150range for the entire duration.Mex said:As far as cardio, I am not doing anything. Should I be doing that when trying to bulk up?
You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.
Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.
Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.
Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.
By first thing in the morning, do you mean before I eat anything? Because I can not get to the gym before my first meal due to the bus schedule. But I can get there before meal 2. Does this matter?EFFORT said:Wow I over looked this in your log. Yes... start doing 30min of cardio first thing in the morning on 3 of your non lifting days. Okay, I just saw the debate in the "where to start" thread. The consensus seems to not eat a full meal before cardio, but maybe an orange is okay.Mex said:By first thing in the morning, do you mean before I eat anything? You've said it a hundred times. Maybe a thousand. And every time you say it, you train your brain to freeze the next time she walks into the room.
Leagues are a myth invented by guys who are scared of women.
She's a person. She has bad breath in the morning. She picks songs she can't sing in the shower. She overthinks her own texts.
Walk over. Say something. The league dissolves the second you open your mouth.
You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.
For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.
Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.
The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.
