Mail is getting lost..

I have this small eBay operation, selling stuff.. I don't accept electronic payments, only check or money order. Buyers send them via US mail. Most of the time I get them, but sometimes I don't.

This happens I noticed with people who I find inept, via how they mark payments sent and all that small stuff.

How could mail could not arrive to me if he supposedly wrote correct address?


Whose problem is this? Mail man on my end?



This is the only time that mail does not arrive to me. I have no problems receiving letters from other people.

Mail men are thieving bastards. Why don't you use PayPal? Lesser of several evils IMO.

I can't use PayPal on eBay.. It requires to convert account to merchant type.. It also means I have to deal with credit card charge backs and pay extra on my transactions..


With check or money order I have control over buyer.. With PayPal he has control over me.. Easy to get screwed.


I can't just tell them I only accept direct transfers through PayPal, ebay policy violation.

The buyer is lying. Give them 3 more days, then file an unpaid item dispute, and that will give them like 8 more days to supposedly send. If it still doesn't arrive, let them get their nicely earned strike, and neg feedback. If they get I believe THREE of these strikes, they are kicked off.

If you use Paypal you can set it to only ship to confirmed addresses. That means you are shipping to the same address as the credit card is registered to/mailed to.

I have only had one attempted chargeback in 4 years - and it was denied because it was mailed to a confirmed address.

As far as negatives go, I prefer to just file an NPB dispute against them after 7 days and get my FVF fees back. If they do not respond to your dispute throuh the dispute center and results in you getting your fees back (you close it after givingthem 7 more days from filing), then theycannot leave you feedback of any kind and receive a strike against thier accounts for not paying.

I have found leaving negs hurts the Seller more than Buyer.

Also great about Paypal is it is directly linked to USPS, where the Customer's address info is already inserted, you get free delivery confirmation (1/2 off if first class). The label prints ourt and you just leave it for your mail carrier to pick up everyday and don't have to drive to the post office! (Of course if your carrier is a thief... !?!)
