Lower back pain

Yo guys, I have been having some lower back pain recently. The best way I can describe it is if I am doing leg lifts (the ab workout where you lie on the ground and lift your legs), if I lift my legs far enough that my whole butt is off the ground, then I start feeling pain in my lower back. Could this be caused by working the upper body too much and not working lower body enough?

leg lifts can wreck your lower back..

so you have 2 options...

1. start doing deadlifts/good mornings to strengthen your lower back.

2. start doing hanging leg raises to hit your lower abs.. it works them much better than leg lifts anyway.
