That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?
She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."
She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.
I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.
Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.
Dinner ran three hours. She laughed at everything. You walked her to her car thinking this one's locked in.
Then: nothing. Two texts. No reply. What happened?
You did what most men do on a great date. You filled every silence, answered every question, and left her with nothing to wonder about. No mystery. Nothing to sit with when she got home.
Rule 3 of the "22 Rules" changes the ending: tell her a little, hold back the rest, and let her imagination do the chasing. The ghosting stops too.
That's a good way to look at it. Just in my case, I've run out of adventures to share, because I'm the only one going on these adventures.Jitterbug said:Occasionally in his new adventures, he may bump into them again and they're still great friends (or foes, in some cases), but he doesn't have to hang out with them all the bloody time!
I could talk to any woman I wasn't attracted to. Charming, funny, relaxed. Then a gorgeous woman looked my way and I'd become a sweating, babbling mess.
The fix took me years to find and ten minutes to learn. Nervousness and excitement are the same physical state — pounding heart, adrenaline, flushed face. Your brain just picks the label. And you can pick a better one.
Rule 16 shows you how. You feel the nerves, relabel them as excitement, and let that energy pour out as enthusiasm. Women notice the guy radiating it. They always do.
yeah, pretty much where it's at. He hates people, has a horrible tempter, just doesn't like life. A couple weeks ago we were near a bar. I told him we should both go in there and see what it's like, he freaked out and came up with all these reasons that we didn't belong, we weren't rich, weren't driving BMWs so they would kick us out... it was just a nice upscale bar. No one cared.KontrollerX said:Though if he's truly a downer and making you depressed then I'd say its definitely time to cut the chord.
I had a friend like that yrs ago. There was this MILF hangout on Long Island which typically attracted wealthy older men(40's-50's). Whenever I would suggest we go to this place, he'd say, "I feel funny, all these guys are older than us and are rich dudes, I feel out of place". Such a defeatist attitude. Very insecure guy. And if anything, this guy blended right in, as he was preppy to the bone, meanwhile if anyone stood out, it was probably me, dressed as a rocker with long hair. I did pretty good at this place, the 2 times that I went. Was approached by 2 hot women, one of which was a sexy MILF who was with her sexy MILF sister, lol, who also was hitting on me, as she ran her fingers through my long locks and told me how I was hot.reset said:he freaked out and came up with all these reasons that we didn't belong, we weren't rich
That's what's happening here. Glad you don't blame them.slaog said:I've been on the other side. I got cut off from friends years ago for being negative and no fun etc. It didn't happen in an instant it happened over time. I'd go as far as saying that it's not like they started disliking me (because I was always a nice guy) it's just they didn't feel good being in my company. I know why it happened now and don't blame them at all.
She calls you when her car breaks down. When she needs help moving. When some guy she's actually dating treats her badly.
You're the listener. The reliable one. The guy who would treat her so much better, if she'd just open her eyes.
She won't. You trained her to see you as the low-effort option — the friend who requires zero risk and zero investment. Every favor dug the hole deeper.
The "22 Rules" break the pattern. You'll stop auditioning for a role she already cast and become the man she chases instead. It starts with Rule 1.
