best way is to tell her straight up but in a respectful mannor.. get together,

tell her that you would rather be friends because you arent feeling for a relationship and that you refuse to drag her into something fake and end up hurting her, but still talk to her after that. the next day talk to her on msn or anything

dont become 100 percent aloof right away.. slowly distance urself within a weeks span
