My point was that a condom is not the Iron Man suit. Even with one on you still have to be careful. It can be a false sense of security because if a girl has crabs and you fúck her, you'll get crabs, condom or not. If you eat her out and she has chlamydia or syphilis or the clap -- guess what, you probably do too. The point being, condoms aren't some magical force, anti-pathogen force field. Never said they were, but the percentages are low(er) of getting anything with using one than not. We aren't talking about eating her out. This guy chose not to use one, he easily could have contracted something without using one than protecting himself with one.
