"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

Just dawned on me that after 6 months I have never heard a thank you. Why have I not noticed this before?

"You'll Never Feel READY to Walk Over"

Next Monday you'll feel more confident. After the gym you'll feel more confident. After one more drink you'll feel more confident. After you get a better haircut, a better jacket, a better job.

You've been "getting ready" for two years.

She's standing ten feet away right now. She'll be gone in four minutes. No amount of preparation will manufacture the courage that only comes from moving your feet.

Walk over. Stumble through the first sentence. Let it be clumsy. Let it be imperfect. You will feel more alive in those ten seconds than you have all month.

I agree. From time to time I do little things for her, but I have never heard thank you for anything. Maybe some people just don't say thank you because they don't know how.

Yes, but not abussive childhood. More like abussive ex fiance'.

"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

So do you want to do anything about it?

Yes. I want that to change.
So bring it up the next time you do something for her. It doesn't have to be anything extravagant, actually it shouldn't be. That would actually make it look as if you are seeking some type of approval. Bring it up after doing something simple like giving her a glass of water.

After doing than and she doesn't thank you; just tell her in a non confrontational way that you've noticed that she never thanks you for any of your efforts and it makes you feel as if she doesn't appreciate you. That should open up a bit of dialog, however remember not to put her on the defensive. Doing so will get you nowhere.

Does she acknowledge that you are doing those things?

If not, maybe she's selfish. This is also bad because it may mean that she feels like she is the one in control of this relationship, and that you SHOULD be doing these things for her! If this is the case, then you better step up and take action.

"She Made Her Decision Before You Finished Your Sentence"

Three seconds. That's how long it took. Your shoes. Your posture. The way you held your drink. Whether you looked at the floor or looked at her.

She already filed you away. Interesting. Boring. Safe. Bold. Before you even opened your mouth.

Everything you say after that is just her confirming what she already decided.

So stop rehearsing lines. Fix the first three seconds. Stand tall. Look up. Smile like you mean it. Walk like you belong wherever you're standing.

The words come later. The impression comes first.

Go out and buy a small box of chocolates. Nothing expensive, just a small assorted box. Don't spend more than $5. Hide it somewhere she has no business going, just to keep it safe. Make sure this is not a particularly warm place (for obvious reasons). One day when she seems a bit down and is having a bad day (there should be an oppourtunity like this often, once a month at the lest :p), go get your chocolates and give them to her. If she doesn't thank you for this, then there is a serious problem.

this is why

if she is with you for 6 months she obviously likes you dumb azz.

But if my girlfriend never said thank you I would consider her a selfish b*tch. Ever heard of selfishness? Women who don't say thank you are selfish. Especially if you spend money on them and they are not doing anything for you in return.
My GF is a complete up and down pain who is a pleasure one minute and the next day she is in a funny mood...but she always says thank you for everything, if it's dinner, a gift, when I tell her she is beautiful etc.
