"I just moved here from Florida."

That sentence contains at least five follow-up questions she WANTS you to ask. Where in Florida? What brought you here? How long have you been in the area? What do you miss? How does it compare to here?

She handed them to you on a silver platter. And you said, "Oh cool. I come here every week. I love this band. Ummm... pretty crowded tonight."

She smiled politely. Nodded. And never texted you back.

I was that guy for years. Talking too much. Listening too little. Panicking about my next sentence while she was literally feeding me the answers.

Then I found 22 rules that fixed the whole thing. Rule number one: shut up and listen. She'll tell you exactly what to say.

So recently I posted about a girl who I sort of liked and wanted to get to know better... yada yada ya. Anyway...

Today I thought I'd confide with my best guy friend who I liked. He proceeded to abruptly say he "had to go" and didn't text me for a good 30 minutes... and suspicion instantly arose :woo:

Yes, he and I both have feelings for the same girl. Thing is, I don't know if she likes me or if she likes him. I don't know who the hell she likes. So... the question is... what do I do? This is my best, brother-like guy friend I'm talking about here. And I'm almost certain he has no chance with her... but do I back down and let him have it? Or go for it and risk our friendship? He's not the most social guy and I would feel pretty bad hurting his confidence.

Girls come and go but good friend stay forever. I remember having this exact same situation with my best friend. We talked about it, looked at the situation and saw which one had more options, which one had a more realistic shot with the girl and then it was done.

Talk it over with you're friend.
