What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.
You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

I was shocked to learn that this dude lives in my city. Granted OKC is no LA or NYC, but there are enough HBs here to go around without having to succumb to this. Dude needs to get out, go to Brick town (our entertainment district) or something.

kind of sad.
anyway, i have been bombarding POF with mass messages and have a 2.5% success rate for meetups.
in addition i've become a regular at barnes a noble and starbucks. they flock there.
i do go to a bars once in a while and play some pool and order an appetizer and a beer and try to meet girls there to. start up convos etc
those are some other ways to meet women that i would do right before if i ever got to the point in the OP.
