My personal experience is in perfect harmony with these replies. C+F is useful in RARE, RARE circumstances in the personal style that I like and works best for me. For the most part, it is obnoxious to women. I try to be loving and funny, or humble and funny, or even better, just drop funny and focus on humble and interesting, or loving and interesting.
