"The Coffee Shop Girl You Never Spoke To"

You've replayed it a hundred times. She stood three feet away, scrolling her phone. You had an opening. You composed the perfect line — after she was gone.

For all you know, she's married now. To some guy who said something. Anything.

Openers are cheap. Almost any sentence works when it's delivered within three seconds. The expensive part is the standing there, drafting and deleting, while the window quietly closes.

The "22 Rules" stripped out my hesitation. What to open with, how to keep it alive, and the one habit that costs guys more women than anything else: waiting for perfect.

I'm pushing 30 and considering the future. I don't believe that we are supposed to spend our whole lives number closing, dating, etc. Eventually I wish to get married. But my job pretty much rules out marriage or any kind of LTR.

I have the DJ dream job. I tour with a band full-time internationally. I love it and I certainly wouldn't drop it for any woman. I have access to a quality and quantity of women I couldn't dream of in the US.

Among the downsides to the job is that I'm home only a couple weeks per year. We stay put at each gig for 3 or 4 months then move to the next one.

Every women I've considered for something long term quickly rules out a future based on my job. Many have tried to get me to quit and find a regular day job in whatever country they happen to live in.

Can anyone relate to this? Is this job and a LTR mutually exclusive?

Get her to manage your tours or something. Give her a job with you so you guys go along together.
Would be cool, but isn't possible. From a business perspective, the budget won't support it, and we already have an agent who has this circuit locked up. Road management issues are handled by the band or venue.

I could just take them with me. Other members have had gfs with them before, but all of the women I've met have their own commitments (school, job, etc) that would prevent them from traveling. I don't stay with them long enough for them to risk losing what they have.

What's more important to you? Any type of relationship needs interaction at least semi regularly. The only LTRs that I've ever heard that worked in similar situations were those that were already establish. It's usually next to impossible to build a relationship from scratch without regular interactions.
