"The Kiss of Death Mistake"

You replay the conversation at 2 a.m. She texted back fast yesterday. Today, nothing. Was that smile friendly or flirty? What did the shoulder touch mean?

Every hour you spend decoding her signals drains your confidence and hands her the controls. Women can sense that insecurity from across the room — and it repels them.

One of the "22 Rules" kills the obsession on the spot: assume she likes you, and act accordingly. Sounds too simple. Works anyway.

Her interest tends to rise to meet your expectations. Psychologists call it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

There is this girl a liked for awhile, but she no longer has those sort of feelings for me. I do have some for her, but they are not as strong as they once were. My question is how do I go from liking her that way to liking her as a friend? She is so fun to hang out with I just want to be her friend because I don't think she deserves more than that from me and we are close friends. I'm thinking that if I spend plenty of time away from her and don't think about her anymore I will be ready, but I'm not sure. Let me know how you guys would go about this.

"Why Women Dump the Guys Who Try the Hardest"

You paid for dinner. You drove. You said "whatever you want is fine" every single time. All the effort, no expectations.

And she left anyway — probably for a guy who makes her pick up the pizza.

Painful. Also predictable. Her mind quietly concludes that anything requiring zero effort from her is worth exactly zero. You became a free sample, and free samples get taken for granted.

The 22 Rules flip the dynamic. Small shifts that get her investing effort, money, and time in you — until SHE'S the one afraid of losing YOU.

Going through the same thing myself...I honestly don't have expert adivce for you, as I haven't been through many breakups. All the "experts" I know say to have clean break.
To me, I just think that when I do see them again, I'm going to get exicted, and I'm going to feel romantic about them again. Well the alternative wouldn't be much better I think, (Seeing them too soon, when you are not friends yet.)
Who knows...

The solution to this problem is getting another girl.

Why do you want to be friends with her? Be honest with yourself and read the DJ bible again.

I would say make friends with this girl.

The only difference between being friends with this girl, and maintaining control is that you don't make any moves on her. You just hang out, forget that kissing her is even an option.

At this point, and for as long as you know her you will likely feel that tension to bone her straight up... just ignore it.
