I was reading about this formerly wealthy man that evidently has 4 different mothers of his children, and a fiancee half his age, and it made me think.

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/broke-sick-lonely-stanford-heads-122429951.html

Of course, I suppose that he is also a cad, as he ripped off so many folks (to get his money!) Evidently, he is a jailhouse brawler as well

He was injured in a jailhouse brawl in 2009 ...
- so maybe it's his cad-ness that makes him want to be polygynous, but his wealth that allowed him to actually carry his desire out.

Stanford lavished the women in his life with trips on private jets, luxury homes and, in one instance, spousal support payments of $100,000 per month, according to court documents.
Court records from a 2007 paternity case, that was settled, showed Stanford also paid about $150,000 a year in child support for two other children who lived with their mother in a $10 million house in Florida.
Ouch! No wonder he had to keep his scam going!

What happens, IN HER MIND, is that she comes to see you as WORTHLESS simply because she hasn't had to INVEST anything in you in order to get you or to keep you.

You were an interesting diversion while she had nothing else to do. But now that someone a little more valuable has come along, someone who expects her to treat him very well, she'll have no problem at all dropping you or demoting you to lowly "friendship" status.

Corrected. Yes. Rich men just have more resources to pull it off. Players/DJs/alphas are also able to pull it off.
So you are saying that all men would prefer to be polygynous, if possible. I guess that because I have a difficult type acquiring only *one* quality female, I can't fathom juggling multiple ones. But then, I could see if I had some sort of fame, power or wealth, that quality women would make their presence known to me - like the way that low quality women like fatties and, for example, the redneck chick across the street that just called me "sexy", make their presence to me.

Being rich doesn't change you....it just lets the real you come out. IF you have serious money in the bank, say 200 million and know how to make more. If the wife divorces you and takes half? big deal, I'll make it back and marry younger and cuter with a prenup. When you aren't the boss, you have to skip saying some things you'd like to,when you are the boss...say it if you feel like it.

I personally think a good marriage is the sh!t and guys are better off for them.

But polygamy isn't our natural state. And I think the occasional dip is in our nature. It should be safe and secure though and rare. The rarer the better since regularity builds familiarity and feelings.
