Is Hollywood objectifying teenage women for the benefit of older men?

I was reading this article about a chick named Taylor Momsen

First off, she might be 17, but she's smoking, so maybe the author has a point. :yes: (NOTE: do a search for her videos on YouTube.)

But it does being up an interesting social question. The fact is that I would much rather see sexually suggestive barely legal acting very suggestively then the cougars on "Desperate Housewives", even though society says that I should only get sexual excitement from women my own age.

It seems to me that the young virgin maiden is basically the only desired sexual object for all societies, except for socially advanced" societies of the West, in which almost the opposite seems to be true - i.e., that an older man desiring such a virgin maiden is looked upon as a shamed, perverted loser. Perhaps there is a great desire in the male population for entertainment that portrays such young maidens as sexually available for older men, which is why this chick is popular. I suppose porno would also qualify, but that lays bare any notion that the woman is still a virgin.

Sam, your treading close to the line. You know the line that is the truth and then people start calling you names. If there were more chics on this forum you would have been branded for those statements. Let me just say this, my daughter watches nick and disney channel and some of those girls on there look and dress like grown women (and some of them are played by grown women which also blurs the line). I usually just leave the room or try not to pay attention to it.
