Any tips for not eating when hungry? For getting past the cravings

What I tend to do is reach for some food, drinks and get women over to drink and have fun.
I'm of the mindset that when you are hungry your body is not adequately fueled and you should eat. That is why you are hungry. The trick is to eat fewer calories while eating.

Don't drink your calories. Cut out all carbs at dinner. And cut out all non-essential fats where possible (aka, try to only eat polyunsaturated fats found in nuts, seeds, and fish). You will get absolutely shredded following this. Trust me.

Bro science, particularly with weight loss, is cope.

Eat less is all you need.

Be hungry, and don't eat so much.

Everything else is cope.
Thats the problem. In order to be lean in middle age you have to be slightly hungry all the time.

I dont like this. I dont like this one bit lol.

Also its easy to ignore hunger when you excercising outside.

Its hard to ignore it when you are at a desk from 9 to 5pm.

It takes a while to train yourself to ignore hunger.

For me, it became easy once I was eating only one meal per day.

And lay off the carbs. A diet heavy in carbs makes it infinitely more difficult to not eat when hungry.

Keeping busy away from home helps.

Drink water. Eat fruit. Eat vegetables. Eat an egg. All are low calorie options that will fill you up. Water of course has none.

It's harder but not impossible. I lost 80 lbs in my mid 40s over 14 months.

You don't need to eat perfect, you don't need to exercise crazy. Try adding in walking for an hour a day even if it's split up into 4 15 minutes segments. And make sure those segments are after eating.

Walking is the most underrated fat burner there is. Also, sleeping 7-8 hours at night is crucial or else you are simply trying to climb Mount Everest due to putting your hormones in a fat storing state instead of a fat burning state.
^^ This! I started to get back into trying to get 10-12k steps in via slow/moderate speed walking (despite being an avid walker otherwise) and it has definitely helped. I also split it up into 2-3 sessions spread across my day.

It's absolutely nuts how much changes after 40. I was the same, doing hours of cardio for basically zero results. It feels like you have to be miserable just to lose 2 lbs. In my opinion sometimes diet and exercise aren't enough because of the hormonal stuff, it's just biology being annoying.

If you're seriously tired of fighting it, looking at programs that offer compound solutions is a way better path and if you're worried about the price, I found out about the cost differences through Minimal's resources section, the difference is huge compared to the name-brand meds. You gotta stop punishing yourself, man.

All bullsh!t. In my mid 40s I dropped 80 lbs in a little over a year.

All it means is your room for error has lowered and way too many guys simply try to operate with large margins of error.

Stop lying to yourself.

Your nutrition isn't dialed in.
Your workouts aren't dialed in.
Your sleep isn't dialed in.

You are simply used to being able to get away with not doing things properly without having to pay a steep price, and now you no longer can.

So you can either cry about it, or you can discipline yourself to become dialed in and do things the right way like you should have been all along.

Stop eating after sun down. No more alcohol anymore. Get more sleep. After 2 weeks watch waistline and love handles shrink. Package appears to get bigger. More natural test produced. The results will motivate you to avoid night eating and sugary carby foods.

Another option.

Breakfast:
Elemental shake
Homemade Yogurt

Lunch:
Protein (Tuna, Beef, Chicken)

Dinner:
Beef or Fish

Done by 7/7:30pm. In bed by 9pm. Wake up at 5/6am and repeat.

Sleep is the most important thing you can do for your body. Low stress is also a key factor. When you are stressed, your body releases cortisol. Cortisol slows digestion and metabolism; thus you gain weight. For men, it's in the mid-section. Women, thighs, boobs and butt.

I will also add, control yourself during the holidays. I usually make make my KETO cheese cake. Some like it, some don't, but you can eat it and not gain a pound. I think it's tasty; but I'm used to monkfruit and erythritol. I can post my recipe if anyone is interested.

Fasting is key. If you want to lose weight, I suggest you only eat one meal per day.

A hearty meal like steamed rice, steamed chicken, venison, steamed vegetables with beans and fruits and milk should get the job done protein wise. After that, fast the rest of the day and only eat once and exercise your butt off after that and get plenty of rest.

You need to fast if you want to lose weight, if you're not losing weight, chances are, you're not fasting enough.

Hell yeah! Monkfruit is amazing because it looks and tastes like sugar with zero calories...

I'm definitely interested in that since I love cheesecake

Fasting helps but it also has diminishing returns the leaner you get.

It's definitely not necessary, I've done it both ways. Fasting is the easiest way to quickly lose weight tho when you have a lot to lose

YES. Keto cheesecake is life.

I’ve started baking mine in a water bath & I find it really improves the texture. It really benefits from resting overnight in the fridge too

It is so frustrating. I could lose weight so easily in my 20's and early 30's. Now that I am 40 it is so difficult to even lose 5 lbs. No matter how much I exercise I can not do it. I have to eat perfectly now and do high intensity cardio to even lose 5lbs. I hate it.
Losing weight in your 40s really can feel unfair, and you’re not imagining it. Hormones slow down, metabolism drops, and muscle mass decreases, so the same effort that worked before barely moves the scale now. It’s exhausting to “eat perfect” and train hard just to lose a few pounds. The frustration is real. One thing that helps is shifting the goal toward building muscle, tracking calories realistically, and focusing on consistency instead of perfection. Even slow progress counts. You’re not failing; your body just plays by new rules now. Don’t beat yourself up what you’re doing still matters, even if it’s harder.

Wait until you are 50 bro. I can gain weight swallowing my own saliva. You need to lift more weights along with cardio. Our metabolism slows down as we age and you have to maintain some form of daily routine to keep off the weight.

It doesn't have to. The key is understanding that your margin for error just decreases and once you realize that, it changes the game from the mental side.

I'm approaching 50 and still look like I could be a middle linebacker in the NFL and actually have had random people ask me if I played football while out and about.

I can relate but low impact cardio plus fasting can help

I recently had an injury and as a result I've had very limited physical activity for the last several months....despite this, I've lost about 30 lbs (fat and muscle, but much more fat in proportion) and my waist has gone down from a size 31 to 29. Not sure on body fat % but I have very defined and visible abs and chest now despite doing little exercise. I figured I'd rather be thin and lean than skinnyfat.

This proves to me that diet is everything. Exercise is for conditioning and musculature, but leanness/weight management is 99% diet.

I'd highly recommend intermittent fasting. I've been eating just one meal a day for almost 2 years now and it works great for me. It's so much easier to manage cravings if you only allow yourself to eat 1-2 hours a day. You're will build real hunger and real cravings for actual nutrition - things like chips and processed foods rarely appeal to me.

I am convinced that the majority of people are overweight from "snacking" and/or liquid calories. IM fasting is kind of a direct solution to this.
