"Stop Asking Your Friends What to Text Her"

Your buddy Dave has been single for three years and thinks "hey u up" is a valid strategy. Your other buddy Mike just got dumped and told you to "just be yourself."

You showed them her text. You asked them to decode the emoji. You drafted four responses and sent the screenshot to the group chat for a vote.

She's been waiting forty minutes.

Put the phone down. Stop crowdsourcing your love life. Type something that sounds like you. Hit send. Then go do literally anything else with your evening.

It's my friends birthday at the start of May, and amongst a lot of people, the girl he is sort-of involved with will be there. He's going to introduce her to me. I'm thinking, you guys would be able to give good advice on what approach to take - should I tell good stories about my friend, make him out to look good, that kind of thing?

Instinctually, I just want to go completely CF on her and have fun with her - but I suppose my buddy could do with some help here.

"So, What Do You Do for Fun?"

She asks it casually, mid-sip. And you feel the floor open up, because the honest answer is work, gym, and a couple shows you're half-watching.

Women rarely say this out loud, but a man with a life is attractive before he says a word. The guy who spent Saturday deep-sea fishing and came back with photos and a story — he walks in already interesting.

The "22 Rules" pushed me to build a life worth talking about. Turns out the fastest way to be interesting to women is to be interested in your own life first.

I understand you want to help out your friend and everything, but how about you help yourself out first. If you're asking us how you can help your friend out with women, I can only assume that you're stuck in the mud as well.

Instead of wasting your time trying to "solidify" your friend's position with this girl, practice with some harmless flirting. See what she laughs at and what she sees as awkward. I make it my priority to flirt harmlessly with all my friends' girlfriends. It's free practice, and you're sure to get a real response.

Talking your friend up is not only a waste of her time, but your time. Good luck.

"She Wants a Man, Not a Boy"

You asked her if she wanted to grab coffee. Then you asked if the time worked. Then you asked if the place was okay. Then you asked if she'd prefer tea.

Four questions. Four chances for her to say no. Four signals that you're terrified of making a decision.

Plan it. Pick the place. Pick the time. Tell her where to meet you. She'll either show up or she won't.

Either way, you look like a man instead of a scared little boy.

Wow...just...wow.

Some of you are so far beyond hopeless that it's actually saddening.

If you can't even respect your FRIENDS, how the hell do you EVER expect to get anywhere with women?
