Keep teasing her sexually, and make the barrier hers. Tell her what you want to do to her in some detail (when the moment's right of course), then say something like "but I know we can't as we're not dating."

Or learn the art of a good freeze out. It should never come across as sulking or anger, just that you've abruptly lost interest, like the moment's been killed but you're a big enough man to take it into your stride.

You might need to persist with these a few times, and be sure to mix them up a bit.

Dude I've learned that its always better to say sorry than to take no action. If she doesnt like it then you can always say sorry, if she does then your all good. Whats there to lose? her friendship? na, and if she didn't wanna talk to you after that, do you really want to be a 'girlfriend' to her?
