A while back, I got to know a software engineering girl in Zambia, who is going to be finishing her grad school by the end of this year. I have plans to meet up in person some time during the summer. If all goes well, she plans to relocate to the US in order to live together with me.
As far as I'm aware, the options are:
* Get a K-1 visa for her to enter the US, then get married in the US.
* Get married in Zambia, then get a CR-1 visa for her to relocate to the US.
* Both of us relocate to some other country. That's obviously a huge undertaking so it would be a last resort if the US refuses to give her a visa for some reason. (As far as I'm aware, there's next to no good paying tech jobs in Zambia so relocating there doesn't look like a good option.)
Which option would be better? Does anyone have experience related to that, specifically a US Citizen marrying a foreigner and bringing him/her into the US?
