What's the big deal? Two people went on a date. She didn't like him and turned down his advances. I guess it's okay when a guy turns down a girl but when a girl does it, she's a ***** and a terrible person. Going on a date doesn't guarantee you anything. I've gone on dates before and the girl didn't want to pursue anything after that. Tough sh*t. On to the next girl. Only wussies get all hung up over one girl and feel friend zoned. It's common that, like above scenario, be that oneitis or disappointment of an unfavorable encounter that some guys (depending on severity of oneitis) will cry it off, or sulk it off, or beat the bad feelings and self esteem with a stick of self loathing. Where other guys will simply brush it off, laugh it off and make little of it.

Some guys will eventually get fed up, and use such experiences to finally bridge that gap.
