Update: WTF????
Well, as I said earlier, our lunch "date" went well. Things were pretty normal during our first class (I came in right before class began so there was no time to talk before class). Then during the break between our first two classes I, remembering her comment about the dorms on Friday, asked her if she wanted to come with me to see the dorms briefly as I went there to swap my books for the next class. She said no. After that, things dramatically changed. While upset and dissapointed, I tried to act exactly as I did before and I think I did a very good job of that during that class. However, things just were never the same. She used to laugh and virtually all my jokes, even comments I made that was remotely funny. No more. She was no longer the same, happy person. In the middle of the second class she got up to go to the restroom to completely change her hairstyle. I don't know what that was about! She didn't need to look better for me and there is no one she is into in the class. It could have been because I was paying less attention to her and/or she noticed girl #2 constantly catching my eye. All this isn't odd enough. In our third class she suddenly appeared to be sad and in a world of her own (i.e. instead of looking at students who happened to be speaking as she normally did she continued to stare straight or look down). Sad at what? She was the one who said, "no" to a simple thing. It isn't as if I said we should go there to make out. She always leaves class before I do because I use a laptop and have to disconnect it, wrap the cord up, etc. while she simply puts her books in her bag and leaves. Yet today she magically happened to leave right after I did. Last Friday we left together, but that was only because the professor stopped everyone at the last minute and the delay allowed me to "catch up." Could she have wanted a repeat of Friday, i.e., me asking her to do something again? Even if she did her behavior for most of the day was simply not going to want me to ask her to hang out. If she acted normal I would have. Surely she could see this.
WTF happened?????????
Still, the day was not a total loss. The girl I called girl #2 earlier was in a 2 hour class with me and the would regularly look at me, play with her hair. She did this on a regular basis. I didn't sit there and time it but I would glance at her every now and then and about half the time she would be playing with her hair and then looking at me when she finished playing. The other thing was that when we had 2 moments where a student made a comment that cracked everyone up she stared at me. This could be because she thought it would be a good time to sneak a peek when everyone else was distracted or maybe she likes me smile lol. Anyway, as I said earlier she is hotter than the other one. It looks like I have a catch here...she could have just been a flirt but the fact that she did it the entire 2 hour class suggests she is the real deal. I plan on seeing how things end up this week with girl #1 before moving in on #2, assuming #1 doesn't work out.
As far as whether having things go wrong with a girl from class, especially one that sits next to me would affect me, it is not a big issue for me. After the situation is sorted out I will adapt to it. I have had similar things happen to me and I would barely know the girl was in my class after my interest had dissappeared.
