How to handle if someone says you look like someone they knew/know?

Had this happen the other day at work. A guy from a different crew (I’m in construction atm) said:

him: can I ask you something?

me: (looking up since I was writing something down) sure

him: would the phrase (says some phrase I didn’t recognize) mean anything to you?

me: no, why?

him: you look exactly like a guy I worked with years ago

me: wow, I’ve never met my doppelgänger!

him: they exist man!

me: ikr?

and he walked off.

I had a buddy that played NFL football and whenever somebody recognized him in public, they'd say "Hey, you're XYZ" and he'd reply "thats funny yeah I get that all the time." He fooled them every time.

I've used a similiar on a chick. IMO, good one to use if she catches you checking her out.

Probably ran into a frater of some kind.. Frater meaning someone who's involved in some fraternity, society, club, organization of men, etc. People involved in these have phrases, signs, handshakes and gestures to recognize if another person is apart of the same group. If you're not, they will have to make up some excuse as to why they said whatever they said.

Yeah if you're apart of a union though, I bet alot of your senior members are involved in it though lol. Some of these big fraternal organizations are involved in alot of diff industries. Everyone kinda wants to get ahead ykno? Networking and whatnot helps in some ways.. Some of these organizations are like a rolodex of people who are willing to help each other in different ways.. A hand for a hand. Kinda cool. If you're not apart of some of them though, and you're in an industry full of 'em, you gotta deal with alot of cronyism.. sometimes you won't even realize it or know its happening.

Didn't think of this. But yeah.... very well could be. I know of one phrase in particular "Are you the man from *a certain big city*?" A seemingly innocent question but it's used to check and see if you're part of an organization.

I had an experience back in 2022 that made me think there are “elements” within society at literal war with one another covertly. Basically I had a fwb who one day casually mentioned it would be cool if I would become an assassin. To attack political targets. I played it off like she was joking but she ended things shortly thereafter. Made me wonder

Yep! I've had women say some really off the wall **** to me. They weren't sh1t tests per say. At the time they seem like innocent random thoughts. But, in reality, they could have led to some crazy situations if I would have taken the bait and we went further down that path.
