But how do you achieve this mindset?

It's clear that the way I'm thinking is wrong. But trying (for over three years now) to 'change' is apparantly not helping, it's in fact making it worse.

I do enjoy my current hobby as it is something I've always wanted to do. The side effect of the fact it's impressing too many people is a nice side effect, but is not why I chose it.

Focus on your weaknesses one at a time, and take them head on. If you have problems approaching, become the approaching god. If you have problems making eye contact, make eye contact with everyone. Do all this 5hit until it becomes normal. Keep taking your weaknesses and turn them into strengths.

You can't just one day say "I'm going to have confidence" and have it from that day on. It takes work, and a lot of it. Turning your weaknesses into strengths will build confidence.
