Why would you date anyone when you are not getting what you want? I guess the answer to that question is I wouldn't waste any time, the minute I'm not getting what I want it's over.

Chasing a woman doesn't do anything but kill their attraction for you. Once you ask them out, if they say no tell them to give you a call if they change their mind and you're done. Maybe other guys' experience differ, but I've never had a woman say yes to a date the second time I asked if she said no the first time and I was the one calling her. I've had women I've asked out once say no the first time, then they call me weeks later and I ask a second time and they say yes, but never if I'm the one calling them to ask a second time. If a woman says no but then later changes her mind and wants to see you, she'll make sure you get the chance to ask her again.
You "give up" when you are no longer having fun.
