If you are going to use social media then make sure you have a good presence otherwise just don't do it.

A while ago I pulled up my fbook account on an anonymous computer. I tuned what was visible to represent me the way I wanted to be represented.

So for example when someone you don't know looks at your profile it shows them the top 5 of your "likes", the rest are hidden. So I made sure the first 5 represented me properly. I left the more radical/controversial "likes" at the bottom so they would not show to the public. Like that if someone looks me up they can't tell i'm a total left wing liberal wack job.

Social media (facebook/instagram/twitter/ whatever the next big thing is) is an invention for women. and we all know that what women really look for on social media sites is Validation and nothing else.

As a man you should be out there doing some adventurous sh!ts and become more interesting as a person every passing day.

if you really care about what other people think about you especially on social media sh!tholes then you have a lot of work to do to become a real man/DJ.

You're a confident guy that blows her mind at the actual date, offcourse you can use Facebook and stuff but don't let it count. Don't relate social proof to girls, thats just bullsh1t man. I think the big thing here is first building an actual solid social network i.e. having lots of friends and colleagues. It then is an avenue where you are invited to things and photo's get taken and you get tagged and then social media posts it. This is better than you taking a photo of your cat and headlining it 'lol.

you will be back on soon. being off fb is worse than being on, as i have concluded. you just have to "check" yourself to make sure you don't go on 10 times a day. if you only worry about your TRUE friends and don't compare yourself, you'll be fine.
