How do you tell if a woman is engaged/married?

I used to think they were if they had a ring on their left hand ring finger, but that doesn’t always seem to be the case. Some wear rings there for fashion.

And I’d really rather not be like “hey, are you married?” Doesn’t seem smooth to me. So, short of following them on Facebook, how do you all tell if a girl is married or engaged?

Normally when you start to get to know a person, thats where you find out all the details, not at once of course, but with time everything gets clear.

And there is no shame in asking, if someone is married or not. It would just sound weird if you are going straight for the kill on your first day by asking someone if they are married or not.

Hard to tell. I have one currently, a dental office receptionist, appears to be a diamond ring on her ring finger. She's chubby, but good face and she listens to her own music at her desk like she's "unprofessional." Also young mind so I'd imagine mid- or early 20s. There are 2-3 receptionists.
